Vulture Fund
An investment fund which seeks to buy assets of companies which are in distress, leading their equity or debt to be priced at low levels to reflect the close likelihood of bankruptcy. The fund believes that the assets are mis-priced, and that the recovery in price of the assets will be substantial when / if a recovery in a company’s fortunes can be achieved.
